On 6th May 2013, we had the opening of ‘Computer Training Center run by Pragati Rath, where we are providing computer training to the poor students for free and to the students above poverty line at 50% fee as compared to the other institutions. The fee thus collected from the center will be used for the help of Cancer patienats.
On 28th and 29 May, Mr. Bepee Pedron from Caritas Italiana and Mr. Vinod Pandey from Caritas India surveyed their project Harit Prayas given to Jhansi Cahtolic Seva Samaj (JCSS). Being the partner of JCSS, Pragati Rath also joined it and surveyed Bedora, Chamrauaa and Pathari villages of Babina block of Jhansi district to inspect the work done by JCSS in providing livelihoods. On 29th Pragati Rath and JCSS invited a press conference to give report of their work to the common public.
31st May is ‘No Tobacco Day’, we organized an ‘Awareness Camp against Tobacco and Cancer’ at a small village named ‘Chandpura’ situated under the forest of Orchha, Dist. Tikamgarh, M.P., where most of the people are illiterate and have no access to information or other type of basic facilities. There we tried to create awareness regarding the usage of tobacco in any form and its side effects; as well we provided them information regarding the causes, effects, symptoms and treatment available for cancer also.
