May 2014 : Livelihood, Health & Organic Farming


In the month of May 2014, our 1st event was a 2 days Incense Stick Making Training Camp which was conducted at village Ishagarh on 1st and 2nd May for the poor women there as such to teach them incense stick making.

Our next event was a Health Awareness Camp, which was organized at Nai Basti, Jhansi on 22nd May and whose purpose was to make the people of Nai Basti aware of the benefits of cleanliness and hygiene in human life, especially among infants, children and old ones. In the camp the precautions to be taken to stay healthy, general treatment to be taken in case of general sickness, parameters of balanced and healthy diet, etc. also been taught but the focus of the camp was to spread awareness against Cancer specially Breast and Cervical Cancer which is associated with women as this camp was a special one for the women.

On 28th May, another camp was organized at village Mangalpura of Lalitpur district. This camp was a camp for promoting Organic Farming. We told the farmers the disadvantages of using chemical manures as well as the advantages of using organic manures and we taught them the methods of making organic manures also.

On 31st May being World No Tobacco Day, we organized a ‘Nasha Mukti Camp’ at village Bhagora of Babina Block of Jhansi district so as to make people aware of the harms of using tobacco (in any form) and alcohol.
