Programs run by us:

Pragati Rath runs the following programs –

  • Jaagriti (Educational Program):

We believe that education  is the key to solve all the problems, thus our prime focus is to provide education. To provide quality education to the rural kids, we run Pragati Shalas (Non Formal Education Centres) for the age group between 3 to 12, by appointing a teacher from their village at their doorstep so that they don’t face any problem in getting educated. Beside primary education, we nourish these kids with Vedic Maths, Yoga, Financial Literacy, extra curricular activities like singing, dancing, drawing, etc., and most importantly boosting their moral with patriotism so that we can contribute in making future responsible citizens.

  • Shakti (Women Safety & Empowerment Program):

As the development of society is not possible without the development of women, we focus on women safety and empowerment also. We conduct camps in various schools, colleges,  villages and colonies to make women aware of their rights and safety measures, domestic violence, female foeticide, sexual harassment, etc.

More than 6000 people including more than 4500 young girls and women got benefited through our ‘Women Safety & Know Your Rights Camps’ and about their rights, safety tips as well as women help lines and the procedure of availing their facilities. Through ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao Camps’ people are getting aware of the importance of girls in society. Women have started raising their voices against exploitation of any type and taking help of police and administration.

  • Aarogya (Health & Hygiene Program):

Under Aarogya, we conduct health awareness camps along with free checkup and treatment camps in rural and slum areas, where beside giving treatments, we make villagers aware on various health issues as complete immunization; safe motherhood; use of tobacco & alcohol; causes, results, precautions, treatment and myths associated with various diseases like cancer, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, leprosy, etc.

We are on a mission of taking the Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan with a pace to the people of Jhansi district, for which we have adopted ‘Mahila Chikitsalaya, Jhansi’ (Government Women’s Hospital) also. Our efforts cover Urban and Rural areas, on being clean and live in a clean and hygienic environment, making and using toilets at homes, segregation and proper disposal of waste, etc.

  • Samarthya (Income Generation Through Skill Development):

For making people self dependent, especially women, we provide various skill development trainings like fashion jewellary making, stitching, paper jewellary & paper craft making, candle & incense stick making, envelope making, mehndi making, etc. We give these trainings to rural and slum people as they are economically backward and need an additional source of earning. Many of them are doing their own work from home and earning. We run a ‘Fashion Jewellary & Envelope Making Workshop’ at District Jail, Jhansi.

  • Prakrati Samvardhan (Promotion of Organic Farming & Conservation of Environment Program):

As conservation of environment and transformation of agriculture are the need of the hour, we focus on both of the things through this program. We promote and train people for Organic farming, plantation, rain water harvesting, etc.

  • Badlaav (Behavioural Change Program):

We try to create a sense of social responsibility through social awareness generation among people through this program on various issues touching our society at various ends. We act as a bridge between them and various state as well as central government schemes and help them avail these schemes and get their rights.

We celebrate various occasions of national as well as international importance to create a sense of responsibility, brotherhood, unity and patriotism.

We play ‘Nukkad Nataks’ on various issues and conduct various other activities as literacy awareness camps and rallies, voters’ awareness rallies, camps for connecting physically as well as mentally challenged people with the main stream of the society, spreading awareness against sex discrimination, caste system, counseling of youths especially girls, distributing clothes, blankets, eatables to the needy etc., so that we can help a little bit in bringing a social change.
